At the 2024 Grammys, Paris Jackson, the 25-year-old singer, made waves with her striking appearance, opting to cover all 80 of her tattoos for the event. Stepping onto the red carpet in a sleek black Celine gown adorned with intricate cutouts, Jackson unveiled a surprising new look, showcasing her bare skin in a departure from her usual tattoo-laden aesthetic.

The decision to conceal her extensive body art was not made lightly. Speaking to Entertainment Tonight, Jackson explained, “It’s just Celine, mama. It’s all Celine head to toe with my jewelry and covered all the tattoos.” The process of concealing her tattoos took several hours, but for Jackson, it was an opportunity to switch things up and allow her fashion choices to take center stage.

“I like switching things up. I love my tattoos, I love my piercings, I love all the body modification stuff, art, and also sometimes I don’t want it to distract from the art that is the fashion I’m wearing,” Jackson shared. “And it gives the dress its moment, you know?”

Collaborating with celebrity makeup artists Tyson Fountaine (Body) and Paul Blanch (Face), Jackson used Cover FX products to achieve her tattoo-free look, aligning with her vegan lifestyle. “#CoverFX meant business when they said Total Cover Cream Foundation would have me covered. #tattoomakeup #parisjacksoncoverfx #grammysmakeup,” Jackson and the brand shared on Instagram.

Fans were quick to express their awe and admiration for Jackson’s stunning transformation. Comments flooded in, with one fan exclaiming, “That’s insane!” and another declaring, “Stunning both ways.” A third added, “BEAUTIFUL PARIS ❤️.”

While her decision to cover her tattoos may have surprised some, Jackson has always maintained a deep connection to her body art, referring to them as “loving marks” that symbolize her journey of self-improvement and healing.

In a since-deleted 2016 Instagram post, Jackson shared, “I don’t see a dark past anymore. My scars and past of self-hatred have been covered by loving marks, creativity, ingenuity, and depth. Sure, I will always carry my past with me, but I see ink as a way of changing for the better, always improving. They represent strength for me.”

Despite her temporary departure from her tattooed look, Jackson remains focused on her music career. During the Grammys, she hinted at forthcoming collaborations, including a single produced with Linda Perry, whom she describes as her “Aries twin flame.” Jackson’s creative process draws inspiration from emotions of pain and love, reflecting the depth and authenticity of her artistry.

“I just like writing music. I promise it’s that simple. The inspo is usually pain and love and the space between,” Jackson shared, providing insight into her creative journey and the passion driving her music.

As Paris Jackson continues to evolve as an artist, her dynamic presence in music and fashion remains a testament to her versatility and artistic vision. Whether adorned with tattoos or showcasing her bare skin, she continues to captivate audiences with her authenticity and creative expression.
