Vikrant Massey Left Rs 35 Lakh/Month TV Job; Here’s His Movie Fee Now

Over the past few months, Vikrant Massey’s career has taken a remarkable turn. The versatile actor, known for his roles in various television shows like “Balika Vadhu” and “Qubool Hai,” has transitioned to movies, winning acclaim for his performance in “12th Fail” and recently embracing fatherhood with his wife, actress Sheetal Thakur.

During a candid conversation on Unfiltered by Samdish, Massey disclosed a significant career move – leaving behind a lucrative television job that paid him Rs 35 lakh per month. He attributed this decision to the regressive content prevalent on television at the time, expressing a desire to explore new avenues in cinema. Despite the financial security, Massey found himself yearning for creative fulfillment and peace of mind.

“At the age of 24, I was earning Rs 35 lakh per month, especially for someone who comes from a middle-class background,” Massey revealed, reflecting on his decision to venture into films. “I quit TV at the time when I had a Rs 35 lakh per month contract in my hand. I decided to do good work and find peace.”

However, Massey’s journey in the film industry wasn’t without its challenges. Following his transition, he faced hardships, relying on the support of his partner, Sheetal Thakur, who provided him with financial assistance during audition phases.

Despite the initial struggles, Massey’s career trajectory took a positive turn, with his film fees witnessing a significant surge. Initially charging between Rs 75 lakh to Rs 1 crore per movie, Massey reportedly increased his fee to Rs 1.5 crore, as per a Hindustan Times report from 2021. Additionally, his contract includes a clause for an extra Rs 1.5 crore in case of a direct-to-digital release of the film.
