Swifties, are you ready for it? By “it,” of course we mean the Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour concert film, which is now streaming on Disney+ after a theatrical run last fall that earned almost $262 million worldwide. If you missed it then — or just want to watch again and again — here’s what you need to know about the concert film.

The film captures Swift’s performances from the first three nights of her six-night stop in Los Angeles in August. It includes almost all the songs from the Eras Tour setlist, with only a few exceptions. Let’s dive into what made the final cut and what didn’t.

Swift’s concert film was directed by Sam Wrench, known for his work with artists like BTS, Lizzo, and Billie Eilish. It was a massive box-office success before hitting theaters, earning over $100 million in advance global ticket sales. The demand was so high that Swift and theaters added more early showings before the premiere.

Despite the success, Swift remained cryptic about some aspects of the film before its release. For instance, she performed six different surprise songs during the acoustic set on the three filming nights. However, only two made it to the final cut: “Our Song” and “You’re on Your Own, Kid.”

The film’s runtime is shorter than the live concert, clocking in at around two hours and 45 minutes compared to over three hours and 15 minutes. This reduction allowed for streamlined transitions and omitted five songs from the L.A. shows, including “No Body, No Crime,” “Long Live,” “Wildest Dreams,” “The Archer,” and “Cardigan.”

While the film doesn’t include a blooper reel, it does feature behind-the-scenes content during the credits. Fans can enjoy footage of Swift’s interactions with fans and some tour mishaps, adding a personal touch to the viewing experience.

The Taylor’s Version of the film, released on Disney+ on March 14, includes all the tracks from the setlist in their rightful order. It also features the surprise songs Swift performed during the L.A. shows as a special “acoustic collection” at the end of the credits.

Overall, Swifties can expect an immersive and joyous experience while watching the concert film, reliving the magic of the Eras Tour from the comfort of their homes.
