Hulu Confirms Sarah J. Maas’ ‘A Court of Thorns and Roses’ TV Show Still in Development

Fans of Sarah J. Maas’ beloved fantasy series “A Court of Thorns and Roses” can breathe a sigh of relief as Hulu confirms that the highly anticipated TV adaptation is still in the works, despite recent rumors suggesting otherwise.
Speculation arose earlier this week when reports circulated that Hulu had scrapped the series. However, a source has confirmed to Us Weekly that the adaptation of “ACOTAR” remains in development at the streaming platform.
The rumors gained traction following a report by TVLine claiming that Hulu had dropped the project and was not seeking other networks to pick it up. However, these concerns have been dispelled by the latest update confirming that the show is still moving forward.
Just days before the rumors began, Craig Erwich, president of Disney Television Group, provided a vague update on the status of the series during a panel at the Television Critics Association’s winter press tour. Erwich mentioned that the show had been in development but did not provide any further details.
“A Court of Thorns and Roses” first hit shelves in 2015, captivating readers with its enchanting tale of Feyre Archeron and her journey into the magical world of faeries alongside her sisters Elain and Nesta. The series introduces readers to powerful faerie leaders such as Tamlin, the High Lord of the Spring Court, and Rhysand, the High Lord of the Night Court.
Hulu announced plans to adapt the bestselling book series into a TV show in 2021. Maas herself expressed excitement about the project, revealing that she would be collaborating with showrunner Ron D. Moore, known for his work on “Outlander,” to bring the world of “ACOTAR” to life on screen.
While the TV adaptation has been in development, Maas has continued to expand her literary universe with other series, including “Throne of Glass” and “Crescent City.” She recently released the third installment in the “Crescent City” series, titled “House of Flame and Shadow,” in January. Maas also teased fans with the promise of the sixth installment in the “ACOTAR” series, hinting at exciting new adventures for readers to embark upon.
As fans eagerly await further updates on the TV adaptation of “A Court of Thorns and Roses,” Maas continues to captivate audiences with her imaginative storytelling across various platforms.
