Maria Tuchashvili: A Young Talent Bridging Cultures Through Art, Dance, and Fashion

Maria Tuchashvili is a 15-year-old Georgian-born artist, dancer, and model who has been immersed in the world of creativity since childhood. Born in Westchester, New York, she moved to Brooklyn at the age of seven, where her passion for the arts flourished.
From the age of three, Maria dedicated herself to dance, a journey that led her to Mark Twain School for the Gifted and Talented, where she was accepted through a dance audition.
Over the years, she has performed in numerous concerts and shows, but one of her most memorable performances was in 2023 at the historic Tbilisi Concert Hall with her ensemble, Pesvebi. Sharing the stage with legendary Sukhishvilebi dancers was a defining moment in her career, reinforcing her deep connection to her Georgian heritage.
However, dance is just one facet of Maria’s artistic expression. She is also a self-taught painter, inspired by her mother, Ekaterine Tuchashvili—an esteemed artist, designer, and studio owner.
Growing up in an environment filled with creativity, Maria developed a love for bringing her imagination to life through drawing and painting. In the future, she dreams of teaching children how to paint alongside her mother in their studio.
At 13, Maria ventured into the world of modeling, training at Dimitri Manuel’s modeling school in New York City. Her dedication quickly paid off, as she participated in fashion shows, photoshoots, and even fashion weeks. A defining moment in her modeling journey was in Miami at the “Samosi Samshlobo” competition, where she modeled a flower-themed dress designed by her mother. Their collaboration won first place, showcasing the powerful artistic bond between mother and daughter.
Maria’s artistic pursuits extend beyond the stage and runway—she also sings and takes vocal lessons, and as a child, she starred in a short film, demonstrating her ability to convey deep emotion through acting.
Her love for Georgia remains unwavering. Every year, she returns to her homeland, embracing its culture and traditions. This summer, she plans to participate in the “Samosi Samshlobo” competition once again, presenting a dress designed by her mother under the theme “My Abkhazia.” This project holds deep significance, as Ekaterine is currently working on an Abkhazia-inspired collection, which will soon be exhibited.
Maria Tuchashvili is a young talent with a deep appreciation for her heritage, seamlessly blending dance, art, and fashion. As she continues to grow and evolve, one thing remains constant—her passion for creativity and her dedication to honoring her Georgian roots.
