His Holiness, the 14th Dalai Lama receives the Be Great! Legacy Humanitarian Award

His Holiness,

In March of 2023, Bryan Gallinger, the founder of Be Great! Network, presented His Holiness, the 14th Dalai Lama, with the Be Great! Legacy Humanitarian Award.

To qualify for the Be Great! Legacy Award, an individual must contribute significant, consistent, ongoing humanitarian effort for 50 years or more. These efforts must create a positive international social impact. So far, he is the only living person to qualify and the first person to receive the highest-ranking humanitarian award from Be Great! Network.

In 2019, Be Great!’s Founder started communicating with the Dalai Lama organization with a proposal to present him with the Legacy Award and a request to interview him for their media content. This proposal was accepted, with a date set in April 2020, but when the pandemic occurred, the event was canceled.

In March of 2023, Bryan traveled to India accompanied by Be Great! Partner Fred Straughn and volunteer Kjirsten Sigmund to present his award at the Dalai Lama Temple at McLeod Ganj in Dharamsala, India.

During their time in India, Be Great! Network team members volunteered and donated to the Tibetan Children’s Village. They also participated in three days of training with His Holiness in Dharamsala and immersed themselves in learning Tibetan and Indian culture while exploring Delhi, Dharamsala, Amritsar, Jaipur, and Varanasi, in addition to multiple towns and villages throughout India.

His Holiness, the 14th Dalai Lama, born Tenzin Gyatso in 1935, is the spiritual leader of Tibetan Buddhism and a globally respected humanitarian. Over the years, he has made significant contributions to peace and nonviolence, advocating for human rights and religious harmony worldwide. His dedication to promoting compassion, understanding, and ethical living has touched millions, while his efforts to foster dialogue and cooperation among different faiths and cultures have helped build bridges across divides. In recognition of his tireless work for peace, he was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 1989.
