The Australian leg of Taylor Swift’s highly anticipated Eras Tour has concluded amidst controversy, with Swift’s father, Scott Swift, at the center of a police investigation following an alleged assault on a paparazzi in Sydney.

Incident Details

The incident reportedly occurred in the early morning hours of Tuesday, February 27th, in the affluent suburb of Neutral Bay. Scott Swift, who has been accompanying his daughter throughout her tour, allegedly punched a Sydney-based paparazzi named Ben McDonald.

Police Investigation

New South Wales police are currently investigating the matter after McDonald reported the incident. According to police statements, the altercation took place at Neutral Bay Wharf around 2:30 am. Fortunately, McDonald did not require medical treatment.

Taylor Swift’s Response

In response to the allegations, Taylor Swift’s team has issued a statement, claiming that two individuals were aggressively approaching the pop star and her security team, creating a threatening situation.

Previous Incidents

This isn’t the first time NSW police have been involved in an incident involving a celebrity and a member of the public. Just earlier in the month, they responded to a similar incident involving actor Jacob Elordi.

Tour Continuation

Despite the controversy, Taylor Swift has reportedly left Australia and is expected to continue her tour in Singapore, marking the Oceania stage of her international tour.
